Can't you just read the code and fix it?

A fault code tells you which system flagged a problem, not always which part has failed. For example, a lean code can be caused by a vacuum leak, a fuel delivery issue or a faulty sensor. Testing confirms the cause so you don't pay for parts you didn't need.

Is it safe to drive with the check engine light on?

If the light is steady and the car drives normally, it's usually okay to drive carefully to the workshop soon. If the light is flashing, the engine may be misfiring badly, which can damage the catalytic converter. Pull over safely and call us.

Why are intermittent faults hard to find?

Because the fault has to be present to be tested. Heat, moisture, vibration and loose connections can all make a fault come and go. The more you can tell us about when it happens, the faster we can find it.

Can a weak battery cause warning lights?

Yes. Modern cars rely on stable voltage, and a weak battery or charging fault can trigger a string of unrelated warning lights. Testing the battery and charging system is one of the first things we check.
